Work With Me · The Front Desk

A website that makes the first hello easy.

Most projects start with “I need a website.” That’s usually true. And there’s usually an and in there somewhere: the site has a job to do, and the job is bigger than the pages.

My job is working out what that is, and building the site to do it.

· what’s usually behind “I need a website” ·

A website, and…

A few of the ands I hear most. Yours might be one of these, a couple of them, or something else entirely.

& a warmer welcome.

The site works, but it doesn’t sound like you anymore, or it never quite did. A light refresh of the words, colors and photos, so a new client feels like they know you a little before the first visit.

& a contact flow.

A simple form, an automatic reply so people know they’ve been heard, and every message in your own inbox.

& a clearer position.

You’ve outgrown the way you used to describe your work. Writing the site becomes the place where we decide what you want to be known for, and then the site says it for you every day.

& new visitors.

You’re good at something specific, and the people searching for it aren’t finding you. Pages, words and structure that help search send them your way.

& room to grow.

You’re getting ready for something bigger: partners, workshops, a second location. The site needs to look like a practice that’s ready for it.

You bring the website. Together, we find the and.

Projects tend to follow this shape, with room to adjust as we go.

01
Tell me what you’re picturing.

The website you have in mind, in your own words. I’ll ask about everything around it: how people find you, how they book, what happens after.

The site and the and, written down: what gets built, the fixed fee, and the timeline. You read it. Ask anything.

The build.

I build it. You see it working before it goes live, not after, and nothing changes for your clients until you’ve watched it run.

Go live, and 30 days of questions.

You get the finished thing, plus documentation written for you rather than for a developer. For 30 days after, you email me questions and get real answers.

Pricing, plainly.

One fixed price, quoted before anything starts. Most projects land between $1,000 and $3,000 and take 2–4 weeks, depending on how big the and turns out to be.

Generally I bill half at the start and half when you go live. If another schedule suits your practice better, tell me and we’ll set it up. I never charge interest for payment plans.

Anything with an ongoing cost, like a domain, a mail service or a form tool, I’ll walk you through before it’s purchased, and I’ll always look for the version that does the job for the least each month.

What happens after.

You own it. The site, the domain and the accounts are in your name. If we stopped working together tomorrow, it keeps running and you can change it.

If something I built stops doing what it’s supposed to do, I fix it and you don’t pay for that. If you want it to do something new, that’s $100 an hour. What I won’t do is bill you monthly for something you already paid to own.

Sometimes the and is most of the work.

If that’s where we land, one of these probably fits better. I’ll tell you which.

Picturing a website?

Tell me about the website you have in mind. I’ll help find the and. If it turns out you really do just need the website, I’ll tell you that too.
