Nice to Meet You

Hi, I'm Liz.

I've spent the past fifteen years managing technical projects and teams at agencies, a big art institution, and a notable software company. I love taking tangled, frustrating operational messes and turning them into systems that actually support the humans using them.

More recently I've found myself working remotely, peering out my home office window at my community in Beacon, NY, holding in my heart an intention to one day serve the many small business owners I admire. Talking with care practitioners especially ignited a sense of purpose because of the level of wisdom and care that you put into your work.

Steady Season is that intention, finally in motion.

Why Steady Season

I started this business because I kept having the same conversation. A practitioner I respected — an acupuncturist, a massage therapist, a yoga teacher — would mention something about their business that frustrated them. A website that didn't reflect the quality of their work. A booking system that confused their clients. Too much time spent getting their newsletter out on what was supposed to be their day off. And almost always, a deep resistance to the kind of marketing advice that felt pushy, salesy, or just wrong for the way they wanted to show up in the world.

I understood that resistance. Most business advice isn't built for people whose definition of success is a full schedule, a sustainable income, and the freedom to do their work with integrity. It's built for people chasing more money.

So I built something different. Steady Season is business consulting for practitioners who want a practice that can expand and contract with the seasons of life, economics, and community need, rather than one that demands constant growth. I bring the operational and strategic thinking. You bring the deep knowledge of your craft and your people. Together, we figure out what's actually in the way and what to do about it.

What it's like to work together.

· 01 ·

I start by listening.

Before I audit anything, recommend anything, or build anything, I want to understand how your practice works: the rhythms, the constraints, the things you've already tried, the things that feel off but you can't quite name, the dreams and ideas.

· 02 ·

We set the terms together.

Before we dive in, we align on how we want this to go. How do you prefer to receive updates? What does your communication style look like? What's worked (or hasn't) if you've worked with a consultant before? These aren't formalities. They're the foundation.

· 03 ·

Your resistance is a strength.

It's common to resist business operations when you're compelled into entrepreneurship as a care practitioner. Often there's wisdom in your resistance: a constructive idea about your values, your ethics, or your unique approach hiding inside the thing you've been avoiding.

· 04 ·

Then we get practical.

I'm not going to hand you a breezy vision board or a dense strategy deck. You'll get clear findings in plain English, honest recommendations, and a step by step plan. You own everything we build together, and I'll take the time to ensure you're comfortable in the driver seat.

What I believe.

Resilience over growth.

For many care practitioners, business success is about resilience, longevity, and nonlinear evolution. Growth doesn't always mean revenue. A sustainable practice expands and contracts with the seasons of life, economics, and community need.

Empowerment over standardization.

If you don't need to achieve endless, profit-driven growth, you don't need to chase every industry standard. We focus on what resonates so you're empowered to dream up and achieve your own goals.

Community over competition.

Cultivating partnerships, mutual aid, and outreach are part of your success. Together we envision another way, rooted in collective wellbeing and abundance rather than scarcity.

Unreasonable generosity.

Inspired by Will Guidara's concept of unreasonable hospitality, I believe we have a responsibility to bring more generosity into the spaces where we work. I lead with free, high-value resources.

Meet people where they are.

No judgment about your current systems, your budget, or your pace. You're here because you care about doing this well. That's enough. Really.

A note about using AI.

I use AI tools in my work, and I want to be transparent about that. AI helps me research faster, draft more efficiently, build templates, and analyze data. It handles operational work so I can focus on what matters most: listening to you, understanding your practice, and making strategic decisions that require human judgment and care.

I never share sensitive client information with AI tools, and I never use AI for work I cannot validate or speak to. You have a say in how AI shows up in the work you hire me to do.

"Liz took a project off of my plate that I had been avoiding for years and designed something beautiful and useful. Even better, the project felt seamless as she easily intuited what I wanted, expanded upon it, and executed it concisely and with clarity."
